Spring Rain

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby. - Langston Hughes

Spring Rain
Today’s post is a mixed media digital art piece that I made inspired by  JOURNAL 52‘s Week 14 Prompt was RAIN or SHINE. It rained all day yesterday, so I was truly inspired to make this!  HELLO SPRING!!
“Can words describe the fragrance of the very breath of spring?”

For the Love of Coffee Digital Art Painting

Does it show? Can you tell?

I love coffee!

I've created the coffee cup by first making a pencil sketch, then digitizing the sketch to use as my reference for my painting in Corel Painter.  I used a captured bristle brush and smeary palette knife with some blending tools for most of the painting and detail work.  The backgrounds were created in Photoshop with use of coffee stain brushes and layering my colors in cream, orange, and blue.  I hope you like them! I would love to hear what you think. Thanks for stopping by!

I was inspired to create this art journal page by a book that I read when i was a young girl, called The Secret Garden.  Have you ever read it?  I remember falling in love with it! I so enjoyed the mysterious, magical  garden and how it awakened my love of nature.

“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.” ~ Frances Hodgson Burnett

~Bird and Floral images are my original digital illustrations- FEATHERED FRIEND and PEAR BLOSSOMS
~Background is VINTAGE STAIN PAPER IN BLUE with added paint splotched edges and water stains.
~Young girl is a digitally altered vintage image with a digital paper pieced nightgown, using my own DARE TO DREAM Digital Papers.
